According to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and Department of Family and Protective Services, less than 10% of former foster children go on to graduate from institutions of higher learning in Texas.  Moreover and as foster child transitions from one living situation to another, their education can be significantly disrupted.

With that in mind, FUNDamentals for Foster Care strives to improve and better stabilize the educational experience of foster children by providing them with Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) toys.  These STEAM toys serve to keep foster children actively engaged in their education especially during times of transition.

We study child and youth development and keep up to date on the latest educational research to make sure we are giving youth in foster care the very best educational toys available for the money.

We believe education should be exciting in order to encourage youth to stay in school and succeed. All of the toys your funding provides are easy to travel with so youth stay engaged in education and don't daze off hopelessly.

Whether youth are in waiting rooms for court appointed visitation or in a state of transition without a guardian to keep a watchful eye on him/her these educational toys that are appropriate developmentally fit into a backpack that youth can tinker with anywhere they go without adult supervision being required.
